Wesfarmers Integrates Industrial Businesses into Bunnings

Wesfarmers (ASX:WES) said it will integrate its industrial and safety businesses, Blackwoods and Workwear Group, into Bunnings Group from July 1, to align customer bases and strengthen its offering to commercial and small and medium-sized enterprise customers, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The transition builds on recent operational improvements at Blackwoods and aligns with a strategy to enhance long-term shareholder value, per the filing.

The businesses will continue to operate under their existing brands within Bunnings, with Blackwoods retaining its focus on large enterprise customers, the filing said.

The financial impact is expected to be immaterial, with contributions reflected in Bunnings' results starting from the first half of fiscal 2027, the filing added.

Kelsian Group (ASX:KLS) unit Transit Systems West signed a two-year contract extension with Transport for New South Wales for public bus services in the inner west region of Sydney, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.Services under the contract will start July 1, with the company securing about AU$500 million in additional revenue over the extension period, per the filing.The contract includes the operation and maintenance of 528 buses from four depots, as well as a fleet replacement program to supply an additional 151 fully electric buses.

Northern Star Resources Should Launch Strategic Review, Explore Sale, Activist Investor Elliott Says

Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) should conduct a strategic review that includes a potential sale, alongside a search for a new CEO, to identify opportunities for operational improvements, shareholder Elliott Investment Management said Monday.Elliott disclosed a stake of over AU$1 billion in Northern Star Resources, saying it wants to work with the company to maximize shareholder value."Northern Star's recent pattern of operational missteps, cost overruns and inconsistent strategic direction demands urgent action," Elliott said, adding that the company has underperformed its potential despite holding world-class gold assets.The activist investor also urged the company to supplement its board with "fresh perspectives" to help guide the review and subsequent steps.Elliott further alleged that Northern Star has "deeply inadequate disclosures compared to global senior peers." The company is likely to draw "significant strategic interest" if it explores a sale, Elliott said.Northern Star Resources did not immediately reply to a request for comment from.
