The Renewable Identification Numbers weekly markets traded higher for the week of June 19-25, according to the EcoEngineers Carbon Market Snapshot.
In the current year, D4 2026, biomass-based diesel RIN prices were trading at $2.44 per RIN on Thursday, up from $2.39/RIN a week ago.
D5 2026 RINs were trading at about $2.43/RIN, up from $2.37/RIN last week.
D6, 2026 corn-based ethanol, RIN prices finished trading on Thursday at $2.40/RIN, up from $2.34/RIN a week ago.
Zander Capozzola, Principal Consultant at Argus Media Consulting Services, said that RIN prices jumped to a strong start this week and maintained that momentum.
He said that RIN prices rose early in the week on strength in the bean oil-heating oil spread, with the spread reaching $2.24 per gallon on June 22.
"Prices remained elevated for the remainder of the week, even as the BOHO spread narrowed 10% from its highs as an acutely tight RIN supply underpinned prices," Capozzola said.
He added that the market is starting to price in heavy D4 shortfalls even as soybean oil prices and the wider feedstock complex have seen pronounced weakness in recent sessions.
