Walvax Biotechnology Unit Secures Tanzania Drug Registration Certificate for HPV Jab

Walvax Biotechnology (SHE:300142) subsidiary Yuxi Zerun Biotechnology received a drug registration certificate from the Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Authority for its bivalent human papillomavirus vaccine, according to a Friday disclosure to the Shenzhen bourse.

The vaccine is indicated for the prevention of diseases caused by high-risk HPV types 16 and 18, such as cervical cancer, Grade 2 and 3 cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, and cervical adenocarcinoma in situ, a precancerous condition.

Shares closed 10% lower on Friday.
