Geely Automobile's (HKG:0175) sister company, Volvo Cars, appointed Klaus Zellmer as president and chief executive officer, with the current CEO Håkan Samuelsson to oversee the transition with the board, according to a Sunday press release.
Zellmer, currently chairman and CEO of Škoda Auto, will take up the role no later than Oct. 1, 2027.
He has more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, including senior roles at Volkswagen and Porsche, the statement said.
