Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion (VLRS), or Volaris, said Wednesday that its passenger demand, measured as revenue passenger miles, increased 4.9% from last year to 2.56 billion in May.
Capacity for the month, measured as available seat miles, decreased 0.4% from a year earlier to 2.97 billion, the company said.
Consolidated load factor increased 4.3 percentage points from a year earlier to 86.2% in May, Volaris said, adding it transported about 2.7 million passengers in May, up from 2.5 million passengers a year earlier.
Shares of Volaris were down more than 1% in early trading Wednesday.
