Viva Energy Group Completes Works to Resume Victoria Refinery Unit

Viva Energy Group (ASX:VEA) completed works to restart the residue catalytic cracking unit at the Geelong Refinery in Victoria, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

It is a key processing unit impacted by the fire at the refinery in April, the filing said.

Production is anticipated to return to over 90% of normal capacity with the unit returning to operation this week.

Meanwhile, an assessment is underway in relation to the repair of the alkylation unit, which is used to convert liquefied petroleum gas into gasoline, per the filing.
