Vineyard Wind and GE Vernova (GEV) settled litigation over the offshore wind project, clearing the way for continued operations, the companies said Wednesday.
The agreement ends all pending legal claims, and GE Vernova withdrew its termination notice, while the parties kept the settlement terms confidential.
The Vineyard Wind project supports Massachusetts and New England's efforts to meet rising electricity demand, with its turbines capable of supplying power to more than 400,000 homes and businesses.
The project has generated nearly 4,000 jobs and $1.94 billion in economic output to date, while also supporting grid stability across Massachusetts.
Vineyard Wind cuts carbon emissions by more than 1.6 million metric tons annually, equal to removing about 325,000 cars from the road, the companies said Wednesday.
