VeriSilicon Microelectronics (SHA:688521) is optimistic it will achieve positive pre-tax earnings in the second half of 2026 before achieving an adjusted net profit in 2027 once it leverages its business model and sustains revenue growth.
"We are investing in tools and actively promoting the application of AI technology throughout the entire R&D process to further enhance R&D output efficiency, accompanying order conversion," Verisilicon said in its earnings report filed Tuesday with the Shanghai bourse.
Verisilicon's operating revenue jumped 91% to 1.86 billion yuan from 973.8 million yuan during the half, while operating expenses surged 132% to 1.28 billion yuan from 551.9 million yuan during the period.
The silicon-platform-as-a-service company expects efficient allocation of its research and development resources across customer projects to ensure business expansion.
R&D expenses for the half jumped nearly 44% to 880.2 million yuan from 612 million yuan.
Verisilicon utilizes its proprietary system-on-a-chip design capabilities to develop chips and completes mass production, it said in its filing.
Net attributable loss widened to 612.1 million yuan in the first half from 319.8 million yuan.
