Venky's (India) (NSE:VENKEYS, BOM:523261) said its net profit jumped to 1.01 billion Indian rupees in the fiscal fourth quarter from 133.0 million rupees a year ago, according to a Thursday filing on Indian bourses.
Earnings per share for the quarter ended March 31 climbed to 71.96 rupees from 9.44 rupees a year earlier.
Revenue from operations of the poultry company declined year on year to 11.0 billion rupees from 8.43 billion rupees.
The board of Venky's recommended a dividend of 10 rupees per share for the fiscal year ended March 31.
The company's shares plunged nearly 7% in recent trade.
