V L Enterprise (BKK:VL) has acquired of a petroleum and chemical products vessel named M.T. AIDEN II for $2.2 million, according to a Thursday filing to the Thai stock exchange.
The vessel was built in Japan in 2002 and has capacity of 3,365 a deadweight tonnes. It is scheduled to be delivered between Aug. 15 and Sept. 15.
The acquisition is part of the company's fleet renewal and fleet management plan including dispose of older vessels and acquire used vessels with a younger age profile to replace them. The plan is aimed at enhancing the efficiency and
flexibility of its marine transportation services.
The company's shares were down over 1% in Friday's trade.
