US FDA Issues Import Alert for Dabur India's Silvassa Plant Products

By

The US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) has issued an import alert for drugs manufactured by Dabur India (NSE:DABUR, BOM:500096) at its manufacturing plant in Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli in India, according to a Thursday regulatory filing with Indian stock exchanges.

The consumer goods and healthcare major clarified that the detention order applies strictly to a small subset of the Silvassa unit responsible for manufacturing specific private label products. Dabur emphasized that the affected product segment generates insignificant revenue for the company.

Domestic products were not covered by the order and therefore were not impacted, and the plant continues to be operational. The company is also taking action to implement alternative sourcing strategies for its US customers.

"We are continuing to engage with the US FDA authority by providing corrective and preventive action plans along with proactive and strong action on the ground to fix the identified gaps," Dabur said.

The company's shares were up nearly 1% in recent trade.
