Kyle Haustveit was sworn in as the US Department of Energy's undersecretary following a US Senate confirmation, according to Secretary Chris Wright on Friday.
Haustveit formerly served as assistant secretary of the Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office and oversaw the National Energy Technology Laboratory.
Wells Griffith served in the undersecretary role last year.
Wright also said in a statement that Alex Fitzsimmons will serve as associate deputy secretary of energy and senior advisor to the secretary. He was previously the acting undersecretary of energy.
