Veradermics (MANE) shares were up 12% in afternoon trading on Wednesday after the company said its VDPHL01 achieved rapid onset of hair growth with the majority of participants in a phase 2 clinical trial of females with mild-to-moderate pattern hair loss.
The orally-administered extended-release formulation showed improvement in hair coverage as early as the second month and "consistent treatment effect" with around 88.9% dosed once a day and 90.0% with those dosed twice a day reporting "improved" or "much improved" results after six months, the company said.
VDPHL01 also showed a "favorable" safety and tolerability profile consistent with previous trials, the company said.
Veradermics is planning a phase 2/3 clinical trial with results expected in H1 2027, the company said.
