Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing or TSMC (TPE:2330) said its semiconductor plant in Kumamoto, Japan, has fully recovered following the earthquake that struck the region on July 28, the company said in its statement to.
The company said the recovery was made possible through the efforts of employees at the Kumamoto facility, local suppliers, the central government and the Kumamoto Prefecture. TSMC also pledged to donate 250 million yen ($1.59 million) to support disaster relief.
The Kumamoto plant is operated by Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing (JASM), a TSMC-led joint venture.
