News (ASX:NWS) logged $0.35 in adjusted EPS for the fiscal fourth quarter, compared with $0.19 a year ago, a Thursday filing showed.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected earnings of $0.24.
For the three months ended June 30, revenue was $2.34 billion versus $2.11 billion previously, the Australia-listed global media and information services company added. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $2.25 billion.
The board declared a semi-annual cash dividend of $0.10 per share for Class A and Class B common stock, unchanged from the prior corresponding period, payable Oct. 7 to shareholders on record as of Sept. 9.
The company's shares gained about 4% in recent Thursday trade.
