Update: Mizuho Bank Files Singapore Court Case Against Radiant World

Mizuho Financial Group (TYO:8411) has filed an originating summons for an injunction against iron ore trader Radiant World in Singapore's Supreme Court.

The case is listed as relating to corporate insolvency, with a hearing scheduled for Friday morning before Justice Kristy Tan, according to the court's hearing list on its website.

Mizuho is represented by Shook Lin & Bok.

The action marks the first public legal move by a lender since Bloomberg reported in July that the trader allegedly provided falsified documents to secure financing.

Mizuho declined to comment to, while Radiant World did not immediately respond.

SBI Holdings (TYO:8473) plans to purchase a 20% stake in Indonesia-based online brokerage Ajaib Group for $270 million by the end of August, making the latter an equity-method affiliate, Nikkei Asia reported Friday.Ajaib offers online brokerage, foreign-exchange margin trading, cryptocurrency and asset management services.
