TG Octopus Energy, a joint venture by the UK's Octopus Energy and Tokyo Gas (TYO:9531), aims to build roughly 1,000 small-scale solar facilities around the greater Tokyo area, adding 50 MW of capacity by fiscal 2030, Nikkei Asia reported on Friday.
The firm will roll out 200 projects annually, each under 50 kW, drawing on expertise from its recently acquired Kanagawa-based developer, HSK, the report said.
In an emailed response to, TG Octopus Energy declined to comment on the specific report, instead pointing to its September 2024 announcements regarding the HSK partnership.
Meanwhile, Tokyo Gas did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
