(Updates with Aramco's statement)
Saudi Arabia's National Debt Management Center, or NDMC, and Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (SASE:2222), d/b/a Saudi Aramco, have approached lenders for potential loan deals amid financial repercussions from the Iran war, Bloomberg News reported Monday.
The kingdom aims to raise at least $8 billion to diversify its funding streams, according to people familiar with the matter, who added that negotiations are at an early stage and may not lead to a deal. The NDMC is part of the kingdom's Ministry of Finance.
Aramco declined to comment when reached by, while the Ministry of Finance did not immediately respond.
