Nvidia (NVDA) has started discussions with Japan's SoftBank, which is looking for help with its plan to develop and produce homegrown artificial intelligence servers, Nikkei Asia reported Thursday.

Along with Nvidia, SoftBank is also in talks with Foxconn about server development and production, the report said.

SoftBank declined to comment to, while Nvidia and Foxconn didn't immediately reply to requests for comment.
