Intel (INTC) shares were up 9.5% in afternoon trading on Tuesday after a Digitimes report citing supply chain sources that the company is expected to raise PC CPU prices by another 10% in early October.
Intel has already raised prices several times since late 2025, including about 10% in Q1 of 2026 and a further increase in July, with some consumer and server CPUs rising by dozens of dollars to more than $1,000, the sources reportedly said.
Intel may also phase out some low-margin small-core chips, potentially opening opportunities for Arm-based rivals Qualcomm (QCOM) and MediaTek in industrial PCs, edge computing and IoT, Digitimes reported.
Intel did not respond to' request for comment.
