BP (BP) intends to cut around 700 non-frontline jobs from its global workforce, Reuters reported Thursday, citing an internal email it viewed.
The cuts would impact about 8% of the 8,500 non-frontline workers that were traditionally part of the company's production and operations business, the report said, citing the email.
A company spokesperson toldvia email that the job cuts are part of the changes "intended to reduce complexity, improve accountability and support long-term performance in a changing market environment."
