Update: Market Chatter: ASML to Raise Equipment Prices; Taiwan Semiconductor Pushes Back

ASML (ASML) is planning to raise prices for its chip production equipment, The Information reported Wednesday, citing four sources with knowledge of the discussions.

The price increase has elicited a pushback from chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM), two of the sources told the news outlet.

ASML has also told other chipmakers in China that it plans to charge 10% more for its deep ultraviolet systems, with some agreeing to the higher prices, according to the report.

ASML declined to comment, but directedto a recording of its Q2 earnings call that addressed the topic of pricing. Taiwan Semiconductor did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
