(Updates with America's Car-Mart's response to a request for comment in the last paragraph.)
America's Car-Mart (CRMT) has been exploring potential asset sales that could result in a complete wind down, either in or out of bankruptcy court protection, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The subprime auto dealer recently reported a steep drop in inventory as well as in car sales, while Chief Executive Doug Campbell noted that the company is looking for new financing to reignite operations, the report said.
"America's Car-Mart's fiscal 2026 results, along with management's discussion of the Company's liquidity position, capital structure, and the ongoing strategic review, were addressed on last week's earnings call and in our public filings, including the Form 10-K," a company spokesperson toldvia email. "Beyond what's included in those materials, we're not able to comment further at this time, and we are not conducting any interviews."
