Abu Dhabi's XRG is considering taking a stake in the Shell-backed (SHEL) LNG Canada project, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

XRG has been in talks with PetroChina and other LNG Canada backers about buying some of their holdings, the report said, citing the people.

XRG and LNG Canada both declined to comment to.
