James Hardie Industries (ASX:JHX) logged $0.36 in adjusted EPS for the fiscal first quarter, compared with $0.32 a year ago, a Friday filing showed.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected earnings of $0.33.
For the three months ended June 30, net sales was $1.47 billion versus $899.9 million previously, the Australia-listed global building materials company added. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $1.42 billion.
The company expects fiscal 2027 total net sales to range between $5.56 billion and $5.72 billion, adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization to be between $1.54 billion and $1.63 billion, and free cash flow to be at least $500 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect fiscal 2027 net sales of $5.54 billion.
The company's shares rose around 5% in recent Friday trade.
