Inpex (TYO:1605) recorded an 18% rise in attributable profit for the first half of 2026 to 263.1 billion yen from 223.5 billion yen a year prior.
Earnings per share increased to 226.14 yen from 186.52 yen previously, according to a Friday Tokyo bourse filing.
The Japanese gas exploration company's revenue slipped 4.6% to 1 trillion yen from 1.049 trillion yen in the year-ago period.
The company declared an interim dividend of 56 yen per share for the period, higher than the forecast of 54 yen.
The company forecasts an attributable profit of 510 billion yen, basic EPS of 438.82 yen, revenue of 1.973 trillion yen, and a total dividend of 112 yen per share for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31.
The company revised its attributable profit forecast upward to 510 billion yen from a previous range of 350 billion yen to 450 billion yen, while lowering its revenue forecast to 1.973 trillion yen from a previous range of 2.004 trillion yen to 2.291 trillion yen.
The revisions came about amid the stable production of the Ichthys Project, changes to the company's assumptions for crude oil prices and foreign exchange rates from Q3, and uncertainties related to the Middle East conflict.
