Hormel Foods (HRL) shares were down 6.3% after the opening bell on Thursday after the company posted fiscal Q3 net sales that missed analysts' consensus estimates.
The company reported fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings of $0.37 per diluted share, up from $0.35 a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected $0.35.
Net sales for the quarter ended July 26 were $2.96 billion, compared with $3.03 billion a year earlier.

For fiscal 2026, the company now expects adjusted EPS of $1.45 to $1.51, compared with its prior outlook of $1.43 to $1.51, on sales of $12.1 billion to $12.2 billion, compared with $12.2 billion to $12.5 billion previously. Analysts polled by FactSet expect $1.50 and $12.24 billion, respectively.
