Update: Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Posts Higher Fiscal 2026 Underlying Earnings, Revenue; Shares Up 7%

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare (ASX:FPH, NZE:FPH) reported Tuesday fiscal 2026 underlying earnings of NZ$0.793 per share, up from NZ$0.639 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by FactSet expected earnings of NZ$0.80.

Operating revenue for the 12 months ended March 31 was NZ$2.31 billion, compared with NZ$2.02 billion a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected NZ$2.3 billion.

The company expects fiscal 2027 operating revenue to range from around NZ$2.45 billion to NZ$2.57 billion, with net profit after tax projected to be between NZ$500 million and NZ$550 million. Analysts polled by FactSet expect revenue of NZ$2.56 billion.

The board declared a final dividend of NZ$0.33 per share, up from NZ$0.24 a year earlier, payable July 3 to shareholders on record as of June 23.

The company's shares rose 7% on both the New Zealand and Australian exchanges in Tuesday's trading session.

The sale will result in an after-tax loss of about AU$12 million in fiscal year 2026.ASX shares fell 12% in recent Tuesday trade.

South Korean Stocks Hit Record High on Middle East Optimism

South Korean stocks opened at a new high on Tuesday, crossing the 8,000-point threshold as investors hoped for a U.S.-Iran agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index, or Kospi, rose 2.8%, or 223.2 points, to open at 8,070.91. The Kosdaq increased 2.4%, or 28.15 points, to open at 1,189.28.Optimism over a possible end to the conflict in the Middle East led oil prices to decline sharply as well. Brent crude plunged 7% to $96, and U.S. West Texas Intermediate futures shed 6.5% to $90.Despite the ongoing ceasefire and negotiations to permanently end the war, the U.S. targeted and attacked Iranian missile launch sites and boats around the Strait of Hormuz in what its military called "self-defence strikes."The strikes took place after Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmail Baqai said that although talks progressed with the U.S., but a deal to end the conflict "is not imminent".The strikes were made on an area near Iran's southern port city of Bandar Abbas, home of a naval base that sits on the Strait of Hormuz.

Strickland Metals Upgrades Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate for Serbia Deposit; Shares Up 5%

Strickland Metals (ASX:STK) updated the inferred mineral resource estimate (MRE) for the Gradina deposit, within its Rogozna project in Serbia, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.The mineral resource rose to 1.8 million ounces of gold grading 2.8 grams per tonne, a 50% increase in contained metal compared with the maiden Gradina MRE of 1.2 million tonnes grading 3 g/t, the filing said.The upgrade increases the project's indicated and inferred MRE to 9.2 million ounces of gold equivalent, per the filing.Shares rose 5% in morning trade on Tuesday.
