Fomento Economico Mexicano's (FMX) NetPay unit introduced a digital payments system designed to modernize operations at gasoline stations across Mexico.
The system includes heavy-duty payment terminals and support for alternative payment methods such as QR codes and CoDi, Mexico's central-bank digital payments system, integrating those transactions with station control and operating systems to improve security and efficiency, NetPay said Thursday in a statement.
The same digital-payments model could be extended to other sectors, including restaurants, retail, and services, the company said.
