Update: BlueScope Steel No Longer Bidder for Whyalla Steelworks

BlueScope Steel (ASX:BSL) is no longer a bidder for Whyalla Steelworks operations in South Australia, multiple media outlets reported on Wednesday.

South Australia Premier Peter Malinauskas said that two bidders have been shortlisted for the sale, according to his post on X.

According to media reports, M Resources and India-listed Jindal Steel remain the last remaining bidders for the South Australian business.

A Bluescope spokesperson, in response to' email request for comment, said that its consortium, together with Nippon Steel Corporation, JSW Steel, and POSCO, has been advised by the Administrators that it has not been invited to progress to the next stage of the process.

"The Administrator has confirmed that BlueScope retains its right of last offer under the services agreement[;] however, there remains no obligation on any of the consortium members to make an offer to acquire the Whyalla Steelworks," the spokesperson added.

The company's shares rose 1% in recent Wednesday trade.

Recce Pharmaceuticals Enters Proposed 10-Year Exclusive Licensing Nonbinding Agreement with Middle Eastern Firm, Shares Rise 10%

Recce Pharmaceuticals (ASX:RCE) entered into a non-binding term sheet with a Middle Eastern pharmaceutical company for a proposed 10-year exclusive licensing arrangement covering the commercial sales and distribution of Recce's proprietary R327 topical gel for the treatment of diabetic foot infections, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.The agreement covers Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Iraq, Egypt, Algeria, and Morocco. Recce will be responsible for the manufacture and supply of the R327 topical gel.The agreement is expected to include an upfront signing fee, together with milestone payments totalling up to $3.5 million. Recce is also expected to receive 30% of the net selling price, with an additional 6% annual royalty on net sales of over $50 million per year. The proposed selling price is $1,500 per treatment, subject to agreement with the regulatory authority in Saudi Arabia.The parties are collaborating to finalize and execute a definitive agreement.Its shares rose 10% in recent trading on Wednesday.
