BHP Group (ASX:BHP) is facing another strike from members of three unions in Western Australia's Pilbara region who have decided to impose a 24-hour ship-loading ban on Aug. 8 and will also down tools on Aug. 9, according to multiple media reports on Friday.

According to an Australian Financial Review report, the company expects that a work stoppage at Port Hedland will impact AU$120 million in revenue per day.

The combined union decision comes after a failed strike over pay disputes that took place on July 16, which was not attended by enough workers to cause a serious disruption.

In response to' request for comment, a BHP spokesperson said that the company has plans in place to continue operations despite the potential disruptions.

The company has a formal meeting convened by the Fair Work Commission scheduled for next Tuesday to progress bargaining and will seek further assistance from the Commission if needed, the spokesperson added.

The company's shares rose almost 2% in recent Friday trade.
