United Airlines to Offer New Economy Plus Seating on A321XLR

United Airlines (UAL) said Tuesday it will introduce a new Economy Plus seating option on its Airbus A321XLR aircraft, featuring extra elbow room and a fixed shared table spanning an open middle seat.

The airline expects to offer the seating option on all 50 A321XLR aircraft it has on order and is exploring offering similar seating on other aircraft types.

The airline said it plans to begin domestic A321XLR flights this fall, with international service starting by early 2027.
