Uniper (UN0.F) said Monday it agreed to sell its 20% interest in the Opal natural gas pipeline in Germany to hydrogen private equity asset manager Hy24.
The transaction involves the German energy company's divestment of Lubmin-Brandov Assets GmbH & Co KG, which owns the 20% stake in the pipeline, to Hy24's Clean Hydrogen Infrastructure Fund. Independent transmission system operator Gascade Gastransport owns the majority 80% of the pipeline.
Completion is subject to the approval of relevant regulators, among other conditions. Uniper said the deal is being carried out in compliance with the European Union state aid law.
