Unicharm (TYO:8113) profit attributable to owners of the parent slipped 1.9% to 41 billion yen for the first half ended June 30 from 41.8 billion yen a year earlier.
The company, which manufactures disposable hygiene products and cleaning products, posted basic earnings per share of 23.75 yen, down from 23.84 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Wednesday.
Net sales increased 4.9% to 487.1 billion yen from 464.2 billion yen in the year-ago corresponding period.
The company declared an interim dividend of 11 yen per share.
For the full year, Unicharm expects attributable profit of 70 billion yen, basic EPS of 40.68 yen, and net sales of 1.015 trillion yen.
