Uber Begins South Korea Antitrust Review for Planned Delivery Hero Acquisition

Uber has begun a voluntary preliminary review with South Korea's antitrust regulator for its planned acquisition of all shares of Delivery Hero which would give it control of food-delivery platform Baemin, the Korea Fair Trade Commission said Tuesday.

The tender offer is expected to close in November, subject to Uber securing at least 50% plus one share, while completion expected in the second half of 2027, after regulatory approvals.

The regulator said the deal combines Uber's taxi-hailing platform with DH's food-delivery platform and will examine its impact on competition, competitors and users and merchants.
