TSMC Unit Buys Corporate Bonds Worth About $32 Million

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TPE:2330) unit TSMC Global bought corporate bonds worth about an aggregate $31.8 million, according to a Monday Taiwan Exchange filing.

The chipmaker bought bonds worth $12.1 million, $10 million, and $9.7 million.

Shares slid 1% in Tuesday's afternoon trade.

The purchases forms part of the TSMC's fixed-income portfolio management strategy.

Hextar Industries Swings to Loss in Q1

Hextar Industries (KLSE:HEXIND) incurred a net loss of 6.4 million in the first quarter, reversing a profit of 2.1 million ringgit a year ago, according to a Monday Malaysian bourse filing.Shares slid about 2% in Tuesday's late morning trade.The company attributed the loss to start-up and expansion costs related to its F&B operations.Revenue, however, rose 7.4% from a year earlier to 235 million ringgit during the period, thanks to expansion in its food and beverage business.Group Managing Director Benny Ang said the company has expanded to 98 Luckin Coffee outlets in Malaysia and expects its proposed acquisition of a 51% stake in Woodpeckers Group to strengthen its F&B portfolio. Upon completion, Hextar Industries will become the master franchise holder for both Luckin Coffee and Ilaollao in Malaysia.

Censof Unit Bags MYR20 Million Deals from Malaysia's Inland Revenue Board; Shares Rally 5%

Censof (KLSE:CENSOF) unit Century Software (Malaysia) clinched two contracts worth a combined 19.9 million ringgit from Malaysia's Inland Revenue Board, Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDN).Shares rose over 5% in Tuesday's late morning trade.The deal will help to enhance and maintain the agency's digital systems.The first contract, valued at 8.7 million ringgit, covers development and enhancement works, software licence renewals, and maintenance support for LHDN's Hasil International Data Exchange Facility system. It runs from June 2026 to June 2029.Meanwhile, the second contract, worth 11.2 million ringgit, involves upgrading LHDN's Hasil Financial Integrated System, including system enhancement and support services. It has a term until May 2029, the filing said.
