US President Donald Trump warned Iran would face overwhelming military retaliation if it kills an American soldier, in a post on Truth Social on Monday.
"Every time Iran kills an American Soldier they will pay for that killing many times over!" Trump posted, adding he has passed the directive to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Joint Chiefs Chairman Daniel Caine and "every leader in the military."
In a separate Truth Social post shortly after, Trump said, "Benjamin Netanyahu will not be arrested, in any way, shape, or form, while in the United States of America."
Trump said Netanyahu is fighting against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which he alleged had killed 52,000 innocent protestors and American soldiers over the past 47 years, according to the post.
"The only ones that should be arrested are the people that led Iran into this unprecedented spiral of death and destruction," Trump said, adding previous US presidents should have addressed the issue years ago.
Meanwhile, the US Central Command posted on X on Monday that service members had boarded an assault vessel, the USS Boxer, to support flight operations from the Arabian Sea.
It added that these measures were a part of the US naval blockade against Iran. "As of July 20, the US military has redirected 7 commercial vessels and disabled 1 to prevent the ships from leaving or entering Iranian ports," according to the post.
