Trican Well Service Swings to Q2 Loss

Trican Well Service (TCW.TO) reported second quarter loss per share of C$0.01 compared to profit per share of C$0.11 a year earlier.

Revenue rose to C$214.6 million for the three months ended Jun. 30, up from C$213.8 million, a year-ago. Analysts expected revenue of C$220.8 million.

The company's board on Tuesday, approved a quarterly dividend of C$0.055 per share, unchanged from the prior quarter. The dividend is payable on Sept. 30, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on Sept. 15.

Shares of the company closed down 1.6% to C$6.35 on Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Nabors Industries (NBR) reported a Q2 net loss late Tuesday of $2.04 per diluted share, compared with the loss of $2.71 a year earlier.Analysts polled by FactSet expected a loss of $1.30.Operating revenue in the three months ended June 30 fell to $814.8 million from $832.8 million a year earlier.Analysts expected $809.3 million.
