Trek Metals Intercepts High-Grade Manganese at Western Australia Prospect; Shares Up 5%

Trek Metals (ASX:TKM) said the first drill assays at its Kuro prospect in Western Australia confirm the discovery of an extensive, near-surface manganese system, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

The company reported a "standout intercept" of 10 meters at over 42% manganese from 13 meters.

Other high-grade results include four meters at about 45% manganese from surface; 11 meters at 24% manganese from six meters; 13 meters at about 20% manganese from 24 meters; 11 meters at over 19% manganese from nine meters; and eight meters at more than 25% manganese from eight meters.

Remaining assay results from the rest of the phase-one drilling are expected over the next three to five weeks, the company said, adding that further earthmoving has started at Kuro ahead of upcoming drilling.

The company's shares rose past 5% in recent Thursday trade.

Helens International Forecasts Lower Net Profit in H1

Helens International (SGX:HLS, HKG:9869) expects to book a net profit of up to 16 million yuan, compared with an adjusted net profit of 50.3 million yuan a year earlier.Meanwhile, the company expects a revenue of up to 260 million yuan in the first half of the year, compared to 291.2 million yuan a year earlier, according to a Tuesday filing with the Singapore Exchange.The decrease in revenue is mainly due to a decline in the number of self-operated bars during the period.
