Toyota Tsusho (TYO:8015) posted a 38% year-over-year rise in attributable profit for the fiscal first quarter to 135.3 billion yen from 98.3 billion yen.
Basic EPS was 130.55 yen, compared with 93.16 yen a year earlier, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Friday.
Revenue rose 38% to 3.570 trillion yen from 2.594 trillion yen for the three months ended June 30.
In a separate filing, the trading house raised its full-year attributable profit forecast to 430.0 billion yen from 400.0 billion yen and basic EPS to 458.58 yen from 426.58 yen.
The revision was due to weaker-than-expected exchange rate performance against the yen.
The company plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 62 and 63 yen per share, respectively, for the current year, which are higher than the year-ago period.
Shares of the company rose more than 1% in recent trade.
