Toyota, Repsol, BMW, Bosch Launch 100% Renewable Fuel Vehicle Pilot in Spain

Toyota Motor (TM), Repsol, BMW Group and Bosch launched a six-month pilot project in Spain to demonstrate passenger vehicles running exclusively on 100% renewable gasoline, Repsol said Wednesday.

The initiative, which began in early July, uses a fleet of about 20 Toyota and BMW vehicles powered by Repsol's Nexa 95 renewable gasoline and supported by Bosch's digital fuel-tracking technology, Repsol said in a statement.

Data and findings from the pilot will be shared with EU policymakers to support regulations that recognize renewable fuels alongside electrification, Repsol said.

"The pilot will provide real-world evidence that renewable fuels can be deployed at scale today using existing vehicles, refueling infrastructure and digital certification technologies," the statement said.
