Toyota Motor (TYO:7203) posted its sixth consecutive drop in worldwide monthly sales in July, with group-wide volume falling 5.3% year over year to 912,683 vehicles, according to company data released Friday.
The Japanese automaker's China sales plunged about 24%, while Middle East deliveries tumbled over 44%.
Exports expanded for the third consecutive month with an 8.1% gain to 196,124 vehicles, while electrified vehicle sales continued their strong growth, jumping 15% to 473,691 units.
Global production declined 1.4% to 934,953 vehicles, driven by a 9.3% drop in overseas production.
The company's cumulative seven-month global sales stood at 6.3 million, down 3.2% from the same period last year.
Shares of the company rose nearly 2% in recent trade in Tokyo.
