Toray Industries (TYO:3402) posted an 82% year-over-year rise in attributable profit for the fiscal first quarter to 31.3 billion yen from 17.2 billion yen.
Basic EPS was 21.47 yen, compared with 11.16 yen a year earlier, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Thursday.
Revenue grew 14% to 679.0 billion yen from 595.8 billion yen for the three months ended June 30.
The company maintained its forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, for attributable profit of 90.0 billion yen, basic EPS of 61.80 yen, and revenue of 2.830 trillion yen.
The industrial products company plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 13 yen per share each for the current fiscal year, up from 13 yen and 12 yen, respectively, a year earlier.
Shares of the industrial products manufacturer rose nearly 7% in recent trade.
