James Hardie Industries (JHX) agreed to sell its European sustainable walling and flooring solutions business, Fermacell, including the fermacell and Aestuver brands, to Holcim for 840 million euros ($981 million) in cash.James Hardie said Thursday it also plans to close its European fiber cement business, subject to customary legal, regulatory and employee consultation requirements.The company intends to use transaction proceeds to repay debt and return capital to shareholders.
