Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals (ARWR) said Wednesday topline results from its global phase 3 clinical studies of plozasiran in patients with severe hypertriglyceridemia showed the trials "successfully met" primary endpoint of triglyceride reduction versus placebo and met all prespecified secondary endpoints in both studies.

Shares surged 24% amid an increase in intraday trading volume to over 4.8 million from a daily average of roughly 2.1 million.

Super Micro Computer (SMCI) soared 22% amid heavy trading after the company said it expects fiscal Q4 GAAP and non-GAAP gross margins in the range of 15% to 17%, significantly above its 8.2% to 8.4% forecast on the back of a favorable customer and product mix, according to a statement late Tuesday.

Over 126 million shares traded intraday versus a daily average of roughly 51.4 million.

First Financial Bancorp (FFBC) agreed to acquire Finward Bancorp (FNWD) for about $208 million in stock to expand in northwest Indiana and Chicago, according to a statement late Tuesday.

Shares jumped 22%, with intraday trading volume rising to more than 126,900 from the stock's daily average of about 17,000.
