James Hardie Industries to Sell Fermacell to Holcim for $981 Million

James Hardie Industries (JHX) agreed to sell its European sustainable walling and flooring solutions business, Fermacell, including the fermacell and Aestuver brands, to Holcim for 840 million euros ($981 million) in cash.James Hardie said Thursday it also plans to close its European fiber cement business, subject to customary legal, regulatory and employee consultation requirements.The company intends to use transaction proceeds to repay debt and return capital to shareholders. James Hardie's board has authorized a new $250 million share repurchase program.The transaction is expected to close in H1 2027.James Hardie shares rose 1.1% in after-hours trading.
