Tokai Carbon Resumes Operations at Tanoura Plant After Kumamoto Earthquake

Tokai Carbon (TYO:5301) said that it has resumed operations at its Tanoura plant in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, confirming the safety of production equipment following the 2026 Kumamoto earthquake, according to a Tokyo Stock Exchange filing on Thursday.

The carbon-related products maker said that all employees at the site were safe and accounted for while it continued its recovery efforts, and no major damage was reported in the buildings or production equipment.

The company faced logistics disruptions and is working to secure alternative transport routes.
