Three Former HSBC Employees Charged in Hong Kong Bribery Probe

Three former employees of HSBC's Hong Kong unit have been charged with allegedly accepting bribes to fast-track bank account openings for customers referred by an insurance agent, according to the city's anti-corruption agency on Thursday.

Hong Kong's Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) charged the former relationship managers with six bribery-related offenses.

The case is due to be heard at the Eastern Magistrates' Court on July 31.

HSBC did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
