Technip Energies has secured an engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning contract for the Coral Norte floating LNG project offshore Mozambique, the energy firm said on Monday.
The contract was awarded by Mozambique Rovuma Venture, the development consortium led by Eni alongside partners CNPC, Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos, XRG, and Kogas.
Coral Norte, a floating liquefied natural gas development located offshore Mozambique, is designed to produce around 3.6 million tons per annum of LNG, doubling output from the Coral hub to about 7 Mtpa.
The project is an expansion of the existing Coral South development in Mozambique's Area 4 offshore gas block and will replicate much of its design to reduce execution risk and improve cost and delivery certainty.
The company said the "design one, build many" approach would help accelerate offshore LNG deployment by leveraging lessons from Coral South and standardizing engineering and integration work across the Coral hub.
