TCL Zhonghuan Renewable Energy Technology (SHE:002129) plans to invest almost 12 billion yuan for the construction of the Shenzhen factory that will produce large-diameter semiconductor silicon wafers for integrated circuits, according to a Saturday disclosure on the Shenzhen bourse.
The photovoltaic supplies maker's shares dropped 4% at the close of Monday's trade.
The initial construction phase is expected to take 18 months, and the overall implementation of the project is expected to take 60 months.
The factory will produce 700,000 wafers per month, including 12-inch polished wafers for integrated circuits, 12-inch epitaxial test wafers.
